At Divine Barber and Beauty Institute, the Skin Care Course consists of 600 clock hours, as regulated by the New Jersey State Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling. The objective of the Aesthetician curriculum is to provide adequate training to our students to pass the state board exam, obtain a license, and be able to perform the required duties under such license to secure employment at entry level.

Classes begin on the first Monday of every month unless otherwise scheduled. Successful completion of the course qualifies you to apply for the state Aesthetician's license. Full transfer credits may be allowed for previous training, subject to the regulations of the New Jersey State Board.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be qualified to apply for the state skincare specialist exam. In the first 300 hours, your class activities will include lectures, hands-on demonstrations, and evaluations. Once you successfully complete the first 300 hours, you will be tested and evaluated by your instructors. A good recommendation will advance you to the second half of the 600 hours, where you will be permitted to work on clients.

Obtaining a skincare license allows you to work in various areas of skin care, including but not limited to makeup application, facials and reflexology, massage, galvanic treatments, body treatments, waxing, and aromatherapy. In every section of this course, you will be graded on exams and practical experience gained by the following scale:

Excellent (A) 90 to 100%,

 Very Good (B) 80 to 89%,

Good (C) 75 to 79%,

Unsatisfactory (D) 74 and below.

All services are performed by senior students with supervision by our licensed instructors.
